march 2024: my favorite pens to use right now!

A Dive into My Favorite Pens

There's an undeniable charm in putting pen to paper. Below I explore the delightful collection of pens that have found a special place in my heart and on my desk. Whether you're a fellow stationery enthusiast or simply looking to elevate your writing experience, this blog post is a celebration of finding joy in the little things – starting with the perfect pen.

Background:

I’d been using a Sarasa Grand (with Sarasa Dry ink cartridges inside) for literally years. But, for whatever reason, last year I really began switching up my pens! I’ve been using three different types and I wanted to share them with you. Give them a try below!

TUL gel pens!

I prefer the medium point, .7mm, but they also offer a fine point version! The pen produces a thick well-defined line that looks great against white tomoe river paper or bright white printer paper. I love the definition! The black and gold definitely gives it a few bonus points, too.

Energel RTX!

This is a staple for many people. I’m just re-discovering it. I ordered both purple and black inks. Again, I prefer the medium point, 0.7mm (a needle point version is available though). I like the pop of color and use the purple often in making lists and adding important appointments into my planner. At work, I use the Energel for notes as it writes exceptionally smooth, allowing me to write quickly. This is because it is a liquid gel pen. It’ll need a bit more time to dry but its so worth it!

RSVP Ballpoint

Ah my tried & true RSVP. I’ve been using these since middle school (circa pre-2000). Cheap, smooth writing. I grab these for quick scribbling, journaling, and when I know I have a lot to write. This pen is used by companies frequently as a go-to office favorite. I prefer the thick medium point, but a fine point is available! Their “medium point” is 0.7 mm and their “fine point” is 1.0 mm. I’d say their 0.7 mm writes like a 0.5 mm easily.
