my first taste of personal wide: my vds tortora croco i purchased on a whim via instagram. she was widened 1.5cm to fit franklin covey inserts (slimmer than PW).
My introduction to Personal Wide inserts began in April of 2018 when I bought a used Van der Spek (VDS) - my first - via instagram. I knew the cover had been ordered custom since it had been widened 1.5cm to fit Franklin Covey (FC) inserts (4.25 x 6.75). Since none of my favorite printable insert shops offered FC inserts, I went ahead and printed Personal Wide inserts (4.75 x 6.75 in). It was a hit! I loved the extra space. I haven’t looked back. I haven’t been in a personal size planner since April of 2018 and I sold all of my personal (medium) sized planners.
After a few months in the Tortora Croco, I placed an order for a Custom Personal Wide VDS. I was purposeful in how I designed the pockets to fit what I need and love. I also specifically chose 1.8cm wider (versus 1.5cm or even wider) because I didn’t want a square planner, but I wanted to better allow for side tabs.
